WELCOME TO THE CORNISH RIVIERA:

At the very heart of Cornwall's south coast, the Cornish Riviera is bounded by two great rivers; the River Fal and the River Fowey, and encompasses a huge variety of visitor attractions.

CLIFF HEAD HOTEL AA 3 Star

Built in 1934 as a prestigious hotel, and situated in a private road leading to Carlyon Bay, the Cliff Head Hotel has undergone recent extensive renovation and refurbishment, and is in an ideal location from which to explore the local area.

INCLUDED EXCURSIONS

1. LOOE, POLPERRO, & LOSTWITHIEL
Our first visit today takes us via Liskeard to the beautiful twin towns of East and West Looe. In years gone by it was a favourite base for smugglers who carried out their work from St George's Island, which is just off the mainland. The Port is still home to a thriving Fishing Fleet which can be seen leaving and entering the Harbour each day on the tide. We then proceed to picture-postcard Polperro, where small cottages tumble down to the picturesque harbour. Polperro has a timeless quality about it, and is perhaps the most photogenic and famous of all the Cornish smuggling villages. On the way back to the hotel we will pay a short visit to the very pretty little medieval town of Lostwithiel.
2. TRURO & FALMOUTH
Our first visit for today sees us in Truro, the only city in Cornwall, with its Cathedral soaring above the surrounding rooftops. It is the main shopping town of Cornwall and much of the city centre has been pedestrianised. In addition to the major stores there are still many small individual shops to be found down the narrow streets. We then proceed to Falmouth: a delightful place to explore with its large harbour, busy seafront, cobbled alleyways, ancient inns, excellent shops and galleries.
3. FOWEY AND LANHYDROCK
Fowey, pronounced Foy to rhyme with Joy, is our first port of call today. This is a very special place, and has been home to many famous people over the years. A natural harbour, it is a haven for yachtsmen and has seen as many as 7000 visiting yachts in a season. Over the last few years it has become a popular destination for several cruise liners, whose passengers are able to enjoy the delights of the town, which boasts an excellent selection of quality shops and galleries, many exhibiting local works. Later on we visit Lanhydrock, a beautiful 19th century house full of period charm, and with extensive gardens.
