THE MANOR HOTEL AA 2 Star

The Manor Hotel is situated in an enviable position on Exmouth's historic Regency Beacon with stunning views across Exmouth Bay, and just a short stroll to both the beach and the town centre. Just a few houses away from the former residences of Lady Nelson and Lady Byron, it was one of the first properties to be built on The Beacon, and is in fact Exmouth's oldest hostelry, dating back to the 1790's.

1. HONITON, SIDMOUTH & BUDLEIGH SALTERTONOur first port of call today is the fascinating market town of Honiton, for centuries renowned for lace, pottery, and glove making. In more recent times it has become the main centre in the West Country for antiques, and antiquarian books. We continue our journey to Sidmouth, a beautiful unspoilt regency town, which has effectively managed to preserve its old word charm, without the intrusion of modern buildings which clutter the promenades and seafronts of so many of our traditional seaside towns. Our final visit for today takes us to Budleigh Salterton, a lovely small seaside town, with a wonderful range of quality independent shops offering a surprisingly wide range of products.

2. BOVEY TRACEY, TEIGNMOUTH & DAWLISH
Another great day out starts with a visit to the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey: Set in an historic pottery, this working glass and games factory has been manufacturing traditional games, puzzles, toys, marbles & glassware for many years. We then continue to the historic port and classic seaside resort of Teignmouth, a real gem on the South Devon coast. Our last visit is to Dawlish, a quiet and relaxing town, full of charm and loaded with atmosphere.

3. BICTON PARK BOTANICAL GARDENS A morning excursion today as we drive through the picturesque Otter Valley to the magnificent Bicton Park Botanical Gardens at East Budleigh. This superbly landscaped park is a gardener's paradise: a wonderful palm house, along with other glasshouses, and a series of specialised gardens: American, Italian, Mediterranean, Cacti and succulents, ferns and ancient wisteria make this a must visit.
