Eastbourne

Eastbourne - Suntrap of the South

Eastbourne Carpet Gardens

Eastbourne enjoys a glorious location, sheltered by the rolling South Downs. Long flowered promenades, beaches, pier and band stand, make this a delightful seaside resort. Due to its position at the foot of the Downs the resort enjoys above average sunshine hours. The Sussex Heritage Coast is the finest example of unprotected chalk cliffs in Britain, and includes the famous Beachy Head and Seven Sisters cliffs.

Hadleigh Hotel (3***)
Situated in the heart of Eastbourne's 'Theatre land', the Hadleigh Hotel is just 60 yards from the Grand Parade, Eastbourne's main seafront promenade and only minutes level walk from the Bandstand, Carpet Gardens and main shopping area. A warm welcome awaits you at the Hadleigh, with friendly and attentive service. All the attractively furnished bedrooms are en suite with colour TV, tea & coffee making facilities, central heating and are served by a lift.
Highly recommended

Included excursions:

1. Bluebell Railway and Brighton
An interesting full day out takes us first for a ride on the famous Bluebell Steam Railway from Sheffield Park to Kingscote, where we will rejoin the coach and proceed to the ever popular seaside resort of Brighton, before returning via Beachy Head.
2. Worthing and Arundel
We travel to the popular seaside town of Worthing, immortalised by Oscar Wilde in 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. It has all the facilities of a large town, and a largely pedestrian shopping centre, all on level ground. Our journey continues with a visit to Arundel, a unique and historic market town dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the town's cathedral.
3. Tenterden and Sissinghurst Castle Garden
We travel first across the Weald of Kent to the 'Cinque Port' of Tenterden, recognised as 'The Jewel of the Weald'. We continue to Sissinghurst Castle Garden, one of the most famous gardens in England, and thought by many gardeners and enthusiasts to be first.
4. Half day to Hastings. This cosmopolitan coastal town lies between the rugged beauty of the East and West Hills, and is home to Europe's largest beach-launched fishing fleet.
