Flavours of Kent

Wonderful Orchards and Vineyards of Kent

Museum Of Kent Life

Kent, the region known as "The Garden of England", is famous for its hop growing and fruit farming, and is home to some of the best British Vineyards. On this tour we'll experience some of the flavours of this lovely county, both of its food and drink, and of its towns and villages.

Holiday Inn Ashford North 4*
This beautiful modern and well appointed hotel enjoys a deceptively rural outlook, whilst being very convenient for travel. All of the luxurious air conditioned en suite bedrooms have every comfort you would expect of a top class hotel. A visit to the Hop Pickers Public House within the hotel grounds is a must.

Included excursions
1. Museum of Kent Life and Shepherd Neame Brewery

Where better for an introduction to Kent than the Museum of Kent Life, set on a 28 acre farm, where you can learn about the people who lived and worked in Kent over the last 150 years. Afterwards, enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the River Medway. This evening will feature a tour hosted by Britain's oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame, followed by a beer tasting session, and a hearty 2 course "Ale Samplers Supper" at the brewery.
2. The Hop Farm and Biddenden Vineyard
This morning we visit a Kentish Hop Farm, home to the world's largest collection of oast houses, before we move from beer to wine with an afternoon guided tour of Biddenden Vineyards. We travel back to the hotel through the pretty village of Pluckley, scene of the filming of "Darling Buds Of May", and which lays fame to the title of England's most haunted village.
3. Brogdale Farm and Canterbury
Today takes us to Brogdale, home of the National Fruit collections, recognising an amazing 2,300 varieties of apple, 550 of pear, and 350 of plum! After a short visit to the quaint town of Faversham, the rest of the day will be spent in the historic city of Canterbury, with its magnificent cathedral and interesting small shops. Our final night at the hotel will feature an entertaining local quiz.
