There is a wealth of things to do in this area between the mountains. The popular T.V series 'Monarch of the Glen' was filmed in several locations all around - to the west for example, Laggan was Glenbogle village. The museums at Newtonmore and Kingussie, give a vivid insight into Highland life of old.

The Highlander Hotel is situated right in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, and you can be sure of a true Scottish Welcome. 1. Speyside Cooperage and Cairngorms Scenery
We travel via Aviemore to Grantown on Spey for a morning coffee stop, and then proceed to Speyside Cooperage at Craigellachie, the only working cooperage in the UK where you can experience the ancient art of coopering (Admission included). We shall have time for lunch here, before an afternoon drive through the Cairngorm Mountains highlights the very best of Scottish scenery as we return via Tomintoul.
2. Monarch of the Glen and Fort William
Today takes us via the Monarch of the Glen Country and Glen Spean to Fort William, the largest town in the West Highlands situated by the foot of Ben Nevis. The pedestrianised main shopping area provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy your browsing.
3. Inverness and Nairn
Our journey today takes us first to Inverness, the City in the Highlands, where you'll find the warmest of welcomes. You will find plenty here to keep you occupied for a considerable time, before we continue via Culloden Muir, the site of the great battle in 1746, to the attractive seaside resort of Nairn.
