Ilfracombe enjoys a setting of rare beauty set as it is amongst the breathtaking scenery of North Devon and nestling around a harbour as old and beautiful as any in Britain. There are splendid walks along the Coastal Path, the famous Torrs walks, or delightful gardens for those who like to take things a bit easier.
The Osborne Hotel 2**
All en suite rooms are pleasantly furnished, with Colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities. All the main areas of the hotel are wheelchair accessible with most bedrooms being a short distance away from the guest lift, making those with walking difficulties able to move around the hotel with ease. There is a large ballroom with fully sprung dance floor, and entertainment is varied every night.
The dining room is situated on the ground floor.

1. BARNSTAPLE AND ARLINGTON COURT We travel first to Barnstaple, a traditional market town with a fantastic mixture of shops, pretty little alleyways and courtyards, and above all its famous Victorian style Pannier Market for all those Bargain Hunters amongst you. We then visit nearby Arlington Court, an intimate and intriguing house full of interesting treasures. There is a bat-cam in the basement from which visitors can view the lesser horseshoe bats, and the Stable Block houses one of the best collections of 19th century horse-drawn vehicles in the country. You can also enjoy carriage rides around the extensive grounds.
2. EXMOOR NATIONAL PARK: LYNTON, LYNMOUTH, AND MINEHEAD After breakfast today we visit the picturesque twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, located in an area known as England's Little Switzerland. Enjoy stunning views of the North Devon coastline by taking a ride on the famous Victorian water-powered lift that links these two historic towns. We then travel to the traditional seaside resort of Minehead: Take a walk up The Parade to admire the vibrant floral displays, and sample the cafes, pubs and restaurants. Our journey back to the hotel takes us right through the middle of Exmoor National Park to complete a lovely day out.
3. ROSEMOOR RHS GARDENS & DARTINGTON CRYSTAL
Our day out begins with a visit to Rosemoor, a garden of intoxicating beauty, meticulously crafted and planted, retaining the essence of rural North Devon within a dramatic backdrop of steep wooded valley sides. With both formal and informal gardens, as well as woodland walks, water features and open spaces, there is something for everyone. We next travel a very short distance to enjoy the Dartington Crystal Factory Experience: See how crystal is hand crafted with skill and care from the blowing of the molten glass through to the final finishing.
