THE CAIRNGORM NATIONAL PARK & ROTHIEMURCHUS HIGHLAND ESTATE
Today we head north to the Cairngorm National Park and Rothiemurchus Estate, where we are joined by an experienced Ranger who will give you an unforgettable guided tour of this magnificent Highland Estate. With great photographic opportunities, scenic views, animals, history and stories, there is no better way to see and discover a traditional Scottish Highland Estate. We then head back to the Duke where bar lunches are available.
JACOBITE BOAT CRUISE ALONG LOCH NESS & INVERNESS
Today we head towards Inverness for a cruise down the picturesque Loch Ness, the home of "Nessie". (Please note it is illegal to feed Nessie). We rejoin the coach and proceed into Inverness town centre, where you will have a couple of hours to visit the Museum, stroll along the banks of the River Ness, or visit the many and varied shops.
EXPERIENCE THE SCENIC HIGHLANDS BY COACH AND TRAIN
After breakfast today we travel to the Kyle of Lochalsh on the scenic West Coast, making a coffee stop en route at the famous Eilean Donan, before continuing to catch our train. The picturesque line from Kyle to Garve was one featured on the 1993 BBC TV series 'Michael Palin's Great Railway Journeys'. We rejoin the coach at Garve and return to Kingussie.
GRANTOWN ON SPEY, FORRES DISTILLERY & GARDENS, & LOCHINDORB CASTLE
We journey north through Grantown on Spey to Forres for a Whisky Distillery visit and perhaps a bite to eat. Forres is one of Scotland's oldest and most attractive small towns, and its impressive parks and gardens, with outstanding floral sculptures, has led to many awards. Our journey back to the hotel takes us via the impressive Lochindorb. This Loch is home to Lochindorb Castle which sits majestically in the middle of the Loch, inaccessible by land.
