1. WEST SOMERSET RAILWAY & HESTERCOMBE GARDENS
Our journey today takes us through the Quantock Hills to Minehead, where we join the West Somerset Railway: Sit back and relax as we travel the full length of one of Britain's Best and longest Heritage Railways. We rejoin our coach at the other end of the line in Bishops Lydeard, and proceed to the nearby magnificent Hestercombe Gardens, a unique collection of three gardens spanning three centuries of garden history and design. Delicious food is available here all day in the Stables Restaurant and coffee shop. There is also a Lutyens Art Gallery with a full all year round progamme of exhibitions by local artists.
2. BRUNEL'S ss GREAT BRITAIN & BRISTOL CITY CENTRE
We step back in time today when we board Brunel's ss Great Britain in Bristol's historic Harbourside. Discover the true stories behind the ship that changed the world: experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on board for Victorian passengers and crew. Descend under water below the glass 'sea' to touch the world's first great ocean liner. Following our visit (approx 2½ hours), the coach will take us into the centre of this bustling and vibrant city, to enjoy its many attractions.
