Wonderful Scarborough
The famous Royal Hotel
Probably the world's first seaside resort, Scarborough has attracted visitors for almost 400 years. Steeped in a thousand years of history and surrounded by beauty, Scarborough is the Queen of the Yorkshire Coast, offering something for everyone. From its two splendid bays, separated by the mighty castle headland, the town is reached by Victorian Cliff lifts. And with some of the finest formal gardens in Britain, exciting shopping centre, variety of nightlife and family fun, Scarborough ranks among the top resorts in Europe.
THE ROYAL HOTEL The famous historic Royal Hotel, built at the peak of Regency elegance in the 1830's has always been a centrepiece of Scarborough. English Rose hotels have now refurbished it, and the magnificent staircase in the foyer is an inspiring sight on entry into the hotel. The bedrooms have been refurbished to the highest standards providing individually designed rooms that have a subtle blend of traditional style with modern features. The health, leisure and beauty centre provides state-of-the-art facilities for guest's young and old.
We travel to Scarborough, with a visit to BRIDLINGTON en-route. A day at leisure on day 2 will allow you the opportunity to enjoy the many attractions this beautiful resort has to offer. On day 3 you will join the NORTH YORKS MOORS RAILWAY at PICKERING for the journey to GROSMONT (Fare included), where the coach will be waiting to take you to Heartbeat's unspoilt and characteristic WHITBY. Day 4 takes you on a tour of JAMES HERRIOT COUNTRY, with a visit to the delightful town of HELMSLEY en route. We pay an extended visit to YORK on our way home.
