The Cotswolds in the heart of England is an area of outstanding beauty and famous picturesque villages made from the golden local stone. It is an area rich in history and one of the most popular regions of England to explore. From Stratford upon Avon in the North, to the beautiful Roman city of Bath in the South, the Cotswold journey takes you through magical little villages and places that have remained untouched and immaculately preserved throughout the ages.
Ramada Hotel & Resort Set in 240 acres on the edge of the Cotswolds this makes the perfect base for this 4 night short break. The hotel has superb leisure facilities with everything from the traditional indoor swimming pool, to a golf course and even a dry ski slope! There is a comfortable restaurant and the bar has a relaxed and friendly feel. Facilities: En-suite bedrooms, telephone, TV and radio, hairdryer, trouser press (irons on request), Arts restaurant & bar, Sebastian Coe Health club inc Sauna, solarium, indoor swimming pool, squash & tennis courts & gym, Itinerary Day 1 We travel to our hotel, making our usual comfort stops en-route.
Day 2 Burford, Bourton on the Water & Stow-on-the-Wold A full days excursion visiting the many picturesque villages that make up 'the Cotswolds' such as Burford, once a busy woollen town, Stow-on-the Wold and Bourton on the Water before returning to the hotel in time for dinner.
Day 3 Westonbirt & Bath A morning's excursion to Westonbirt Arboretum, a great visit at any time of the year, there's a shop, café, restaurant and plant centre which has a reputation for selling high quality plants - including a large range of unusual trees and shrubs, many of which can be found growing in the Arboretum. The afternoon has then been left free for you to visit Bath.
Day 4 National Waterways Museum & Sudeley Castle Start today with a visit to the National Waterways Museum in Gloucester, for many years an important stopping point on the River Severn it is at the museum that you can discover the rich history associated with the area. Also included is a 45 minute boat trip on board the Queen Boadicea II.
Day 5 Depart the hotel and make our journey home, with usual comfort stops en route.
